WebP supports transparency and adjustable lossy compression. Compare the preview and actual file size before downloading. Dimensions are preserved unless resized. Source metadata is removed; animated images are not supported.

Supported formats & limits

AVIF input. Up to 20 MiB per image, 24 megapixels, 20 files and 100 MiB per batch. The workspace shows lower limits when your device requires them. Static images only. Re-encoding removes EXIF/GPS metadata; color profiles, HDR and high bit depths are not preserved exactly.

Will WebP always produce a smaller file?

No. The result depends on image content, dimensions and quality. Compare the actual output size and preview before replacing the original.

What inputs and limits apply to AVIF to WEBP Converter?

Accepted input: AVIF. Static JPEG, PNG, WebP and browser-decodable AVIF; HEIC/HEIF uses a locally loaded WASM decoder. Up to 20 MiB per image, 24 megapixels, 20 files sequentially. Lower limits apply on limited devices. Re-encoding removes source metadata; color profiles, HDR, and high bit depths are not preserved exactly. Animated images and SVG are not supported. PNG conversion can increase file size.
